Family Photoshoot in Moorea

As the photographer for this Family Photoshoot in Moorea, I could tell that the weather had its own ideas about the day. The rain began to fall just as i arrived, but rather than dampen their spirits, it seemed to only add to the charm of the moment. With the tropical landscape as our backdrop, the gentle rain created a soft, dreamlike atmosphere, transforming the beach and the Sofitel Moorea into something out of a fairytale.

We started with the family together laughing as they made the best of the situation. The little one, a young girl, was grinning from ear to ear. Also, I snapped some wide-angle shots, capturing the vibrant green of the island’s hills behind them and the turquoise of the lagoon shimmering under the soft, overcast sky.

As the rain softened, I asked them to step closer to the water’s edge. The parents, holding hands, looked at each other with love and laughter in their eyes, while their daughter danced around them, carefree and radiant, the rain soaking her little sundress.We moved to the resort’s overwater bungalows, where the wooden decking allowed us to keep a bit of distance from the rain, but the view remained breathtaking. Here, the mood shifted slightly, the couple sharing a peaceful moment by the edge of the water. I could see the love between them, even in the quiet moments when they weren’t looking at the camera—just enjoying the rare solitude of the moment together, despite the weather.

In the end, the rain didn’t matter. It made the whole experience feel even more special, a testament to the spontaneity and warmth of this little family. The vibrant colors of Moorea’s landscape, the gentle rain, and their infectious happiness turned what could’ve been a challenging day into something utterly magical. I could feel the energy between them—full of love, laughter, and togetherness—and I was so honored to have captured it.

At the end of the session, we were all drenched but smiling, and it felt like the kind of day that would become a cherished memory for years to come.
